Alice M.L. Quiocho Named Cambridge Who's Who Professional of the Year in Future Teacher Training
Alice M.L. Quiocho, professor for California State University at San Marcos, has been named Cambridge Who's Who Professional of the Year teacher training.

Quiocho, Ed.D., professor for California State University at San Marcos, has been named Cambridge Who's Who Professional of the Year for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in all aspects of future teacher training.
Quiocho has an impressive background in education, with 38 years of experience. As a professor for California State University at San Marcos, she trains kindergarten through 12th grade teachers in the disciplines of language, English as a second language and reading and language arts. Additionally, she oversees curriculum development, coordinates the multiple subjects credential program and prepares students to pass examinations. California State University at San Marcos is a public university that provides undergraduate and graduate degree programs with innovative curriculums.
Previously, Quiocho worked for California State University at San Marcos as an associate professor of language and literacy for 10 years. She has 28 years of experience teaching in the kindergarten through eighth grade classroom. Quiocho has served as a reading specialist, district coordinator of professional development, elementary school principal, middle school principal and director of the North County Professional Development Federation at the San Diego County Office of Education. She has been published in the Journal of Adolescent and Adult Literacy, the California Reader and on multicultural perspectives in the American Educational Research Journal.
Quiocho received her doctor of education in reading, language arts and bilingual education from the University of Washington in 1984. She holds a masters degree in reading diagnosis from Azusa Pacific University (1973) and a bachelor of arts from Holy Names University in Oakland, California. She is a member of the International Reading Association, the National Council of Teachers of English, the American Educational Research Association and the National Association for Multicultural Education.
