Mr. Roberts has become renowned as an expert in hydrocarbon fuel utilization, storage & handling regulatory codes, and in his current capacity, he investigates legal claims and liability issues related to the utilization and handling of natural gas, propane and fuel oil including oil spill occurrences. He also offers his knowledge, perception and insight by serving as an expert witness. His additional responsibilities include providing technical assistance to the fuels industry by conducting testing of appliances, equipment and components and reconstructing accident sites for the purpose of analysis

Mr. Roberts has a background in the energy production industry, and has served as a government inspector and investigator in the hydrocarbon fuels sector. He has amassed more than 38 years of professional experience thus far, and he continues to strive for excellence in his endeavors. He is certified as an engineering technician by The Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists and as a fire and explosion investigator by the National Association of Fire Investigators. He is also certified to work with gas, propane and fuel oil. He is a member of the Canadian Association of Fire Investigators, the National Association of Fire Investigators and the National Fire Prevention Association.

J.A. Roberts and Associates, which Mr. Roberts founded 16 years ago, is a private investigation and consulting company specializing in fires and explosions involving natural gas, propane and fuel oil, as well as fuel oil losses due to storage and handling.
