George Cernigliaro combines technical expertise in organic chemistry and deep knowledge of photolithographic materials and processes

NEWTON, MA, August 1, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- George J. Cernigliaro, Vice President and Chief Technology Officer for MicroChem Corp., has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in chemical manufacturing.

With 36 years of professional industry experience, George Cernigliaro combines technical expertise in organic chemistry and deep knowledge of photolithographic materials and processes with proven leadership in results-oriented technical program and staff management. He brings this formidable combination to MicroChem Corp, a leading manufacturer of specialty chemicals. Dr. Cernigliaro, in the capacity of Vice President and CTO, is responsible for strategic materials and concept research, alignment of technology vision with business strategy, as well as identification and implementation of supplier and developmental partnerships with lead users and other technology leaders in related fields.

An apprentice of the late Charles R. Shipley Jr., a great innovator in the field of electronic chemicals, Dr. Cernigliaro adopted his early mentor's conviction that business success is built upon respecting one's customers and putting oneself in others' shoes. He considers his time working with the co-founder of Shipley Company to be a major highlight of his career, and actively lives these same values at MicroChem Corp.

Dr. Cernigliaro earned his Ph.D. in organic chemistry from Binghamton University and a bachelor of arts in natural sciences from Long Island University. He holds a certification in Statistical Design of Experiments from DuPont, a certification in Total Cycle Time Management from the Thomas Group, and a certification in Driving Strategic Innovation from the MIT Sloan School of Management. His professional affiliations include the American Chemical Society, the Society of Photo-Optical Instrumentation Engineers, and the Society for Imaging Science and Technology.
