Katherine S. Watson Jacobs Honored for Excellence in Technical Education
Kathy Jacobs is a scholar of the Martha Holden Jennings Foundation
GEORGETOWN, OH, July 19, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Katherine Jacobs, Science Head at Southern Hills Career & Technical Center, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in technical education.
With 33 years of education experience, Mrs. Jacobs is best known for her expertise in scientific and mathematical instruction. She has taught at Williamsburg High School, Fayetteville High School, and the remainder of her career at Southern Hills Career & Technical Center, where she conducts classes in science and math, and grades virtual lessons for students. Mrs. Jacobs considers being able to pursue her passion for teaching to be the most rewarding aspect of her work. She attributes her success to her diligence.
Mrs. Jacobs received a master's degree in education in 1994 from Miami University and a master's degree in geoscience education from Mississippi State University in 2006. She is a scholar of the Martha Holden Jennings Foundation, a distinction reserved for outstanding classroom teachers in Ohio, and holds membership to the National Science Teachers Association. For the year 2010-2011, she was named a Professional of the Year in Technical Education by Cambridge Who's Who.
A muzzle-loading enthusiast, Mrs. Jacobs currently holds two records with the National Muzzle Loading Rifle Association.
