Karen H. Morris Recognized for Dedication to Community Fundraising
Mrs. Morris serves on the Board of Directors of the General Federation of Women's Clubs
WASHINGTON, D.C., July 12, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Karen H. Morris, Board of Directors Volunteer for the General Federation of Women's Clubs, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in fundraising.
Hardworking and undeterred by challenging tasks, Mrs. Morris utilizes 40 years of total professional experience in her decade-long position as a board of directors volunteer. Her desire to help others makes her role within the General Federation of Women's Clubs (GFWC) extremely fitting — the nonprofit organization provides community service to support the arts, preserve natural resources, advance education, promote healthy lifestyles, and encourage civic involvement. She served as president of GFWC New York State from 2002 until 2004. As a volunteer, she conducts seminars and fulfills the role of chairwoman of the Hugh O'Brian Youth Leadership NY Central HOBY Committee, on which she has served since 1999.
Mrs. Morris earned a bachelor's degree from the College of Human Ecology at Syracuse University in 1967. She is affiliated with Beta Sigma Phi International, and intends to experience professional growth as she continues to assist the General Federation of Women's Clubs.
