Veeda Gray O'Connor Inducted into Cambridge Who's Who
Veeda Gray O'Connor celebrates a 40-year career with the federal government

WASHINGTON, DC, June 24, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Veeda Gray O'Connor, Retired Federal Government Employee, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in government services.

For 40 years, Ms. O'Connor served the federal government in many capacities. She interned for the civil service at the age of 16 and worked there and in the federal energy office after she graduated from college. She went on to gain expertise in positions with commerce, NASA, the GSA and The U.S. National Archives and Records Administration. In her most recent role, Ms. O'Connor handled personnel services for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Office of Internal Affairs. She has intricate knowledge of the federal sector regarding recruitment and personnel.

Ms. O'Connor's success can be attributed to her strong work ethic, excellent communciation skills and desire to provide quality services. She is thankful for the opportunites that her career with the federal government has offered her. A true role model, she is an example to her family and future generations that having a career and making a difference are of the utmost importance.

A 1971 graduate of Knoxville College, Ms. O'Connor earned a bachelor's degree in psychology and remains active with the college's alumni association. She went on to complete some graduate coursework in personnel management at Georgetown University. A member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., she volunteers her free time with the sorority's public service projects. In March 2011, Ms. O'Connor was inducted and began her three-year term as a trustee of Presbyterian Church in Washington, D.C. She plans to continue enjoying retirement, her family and pursue consulting in the future.
