Adina J. Stone, Descended from a Line of Teachers, Does her Family Proud
Adina Stone teaches modern and classical languages at Sheffield High School
SHEFFIELD, AL, June 9, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Adina J. Stone, Modern and Classical Language Teacher at Sheffield High School, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in secondary education.
Proudly descended from a line of teachers, Ms. Stone embarked on her own career in education in 1986. She marks her 25th year as a teacher, and her ninth year as a modern and classical language teacher at Sheffield High School. In this capacity, she specializes in a wide range of subjects, including French, Latin, ancient medicine, the archaeology of Pompeii, the Bible as Literature, and advanced placement English. Ms. Stone considers helping her students achieve their goals to be the most rewarding aspect of her work. She attributes the success that she has found in the family trade to her openness to other people and her philosophy of taking everything in stride. Ms. Stone has been chosen as the Alabama Teacher of the Year Secondary Teacher Region VII for 2011-2012
Ms. Stone is pursuing a Ph.D. at the University of Florida, having earned a master's degree in biology from the University of North Alabama. She is affiliated with the Alabama Association of Foreign Language Teachers, the Archaeological Institute of America, the National Advisory Committee for Praxis (Latin), and The Society of Architectural Historians. In 2010 and 2007, she was recognized as a VIP member by Cambridge Who's Who.
