Dr. Parag Bhanot, a leader in health care, celebrates seven years in the industry

VIENNA, VA, May 18, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dr. Parag Bhanot, Surgeon at Georgetown University Hospital, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in health care.

Dr. Bhanot has five years of professional experience. As a surgeon at Georgetown University Hospital, he conducts both complex gastrointestinal surgery and abdominal wall reconstruction. He received his bachelor's degree in biology in 1996 and MD in 2000, both from The George Washington University. He then completed his internship and residency at The University of Cincinnati Medical Center. To further his interests in academic surgery, he completed a fellowship in advanced laparoscopic surgery at Northwestern Memorial Hospital. Thus, Dr. Bhanot attributes his success to his education and training.

Dr. Bhanot is a member of a number of prestigious surgical societies including the American College of Surgeons, the Society for Surgery of the Alimentary Tract, Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons, Association for Academic Surgery, American Hernia Society, and Mont Reid Surgical Society. In the coming years, he hopes to solidify his standing as an academic surgeon and a leader in his field as a member of the Department of Surgery at the Georgetown University Hospital.
