Mara Sfara Showcases Professional Brand through Cambridge Who's Who
Mara Sfara's art work has been featured at various galleries and museums

FARMINGTON, CT, May 6, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ --Mara Sfara, artist and owner of Mara Fine Arts, LLC, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in art.

Ms. Sfara's oil paintings capture life at its best. She paints not what she sees, but what she wants to see or where the viewer may wish to be. Whether her painting is a landscape, a portrait or an abstraction, she seeks rhythm and harmony to achieve a state of homogeneity. As with life, we can focus on the positive and the beautiful or the harshness and difficulties. Her landscapes feature locations throughout the world that invite your inclusion. Her portraits depict the feelings of the subject and the subject's view of himself or herself. If the subject is a still life, she gives permanence to ephemeral beauty. She blends vibrant, surrealistic strokes with realistic lighting and shading, capturing moments in time and detailed expressions that inspire, engage and beautify.

Ms. Sfara's sculptures are primarily in bronze, although she also works in stone. Her sculptures are whimsical and her sculpting style is unique.

Ms. Sfara received an M.A. in Fine Arts from New York University, a B.A. in English and Film Studies from the University of Rochester, and a B.S.N. from Columbia University. She apprenticed and continues to paint with the prominent American portrait artist, Burton Silverman. She is a member of the Salmagundi Club, the National Arts Club, the Huntington Art League, the Kent (CT) Art Association, the West Hartford (CT) Art League and the Washington (CT) Art Association. Her works are in the collections of the Cradle of Aviation Museum, the QCC Art Gallery of the City University of New York, the Jewish Federation of Greater Hartford, the University of Connecticut Health Center and the Beardsley Gallery in Wilton, Connecticut. She has participated in solo and group shows at diverse locations including: the Museo Metropolitano in Buenos Aries, Argentina; Galeria de Arte Santos in Leon, Spain; the Institute of Hispanic Culture in Houston, Texas; the Latino Art Museum in Pomona, California; the QCC Art Gallery in Queens, New York and the Atrium Art Space in Melville, New York.
