Leora Haskett Neal, LCSW, Honored for Professional Excellence
Leora Haskett Neal, LCSW, is a fellow of the Child Welfare League of America

Bronx, NY, May 19, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Leora Haskett Neal, LCSW, an adoption training specialist with the Center for Development of Human Services/Research Foundation, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who's for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in child welfare services.

For the past 15 years, Ms. Neal has been handling adoption cases and child welfare services for the CDHS/Research Foundation. With more than 40 years of experience in the social services field, she enjoys training and assisting public and voluntary agencies as well as her staff on adoption issues. As a licensed clinical social worker and licensed master social worker, she has the expertise needed to develop curricula, lead workshops, conduct evaluations, coordinate forums and provide technical assistance and consultations. Lastly, she monitors programs instituted by adoption agencies to ensure they meet the highest standards. Ms. Neal is the author of a number of published articles and the owner and founder of Haskett-Neal Publications. She is the co-author of the book, "Transracial Adoptive Parenting: A Black/White Community Issue." Her choice of a career in welfare services seems predestined; she enjoys helping others and those in need seem to gravitate toward her.

Ms. Neal received a master of science in social work degree from Columbia University in 1970 and a bachelor of arts in psychology and sociology from City College of New York in 1965. She is a member of numerous prestigious organizations including the National Association for Female Executives, and the Alumni Associations of Columbia University's School of Social Work and City College of New York. She founded and served as Executive Director of the Child Adoption Counseling and Referral Service of the New York Chapter of the National Association of Black Social Workers. Additionally she founded and serves as board president of the Fountain Avenue Community Development Corporation. She has co-chaired the National Association of Black Social Workers' Task Force on Foster Care and Adoption and was a fellow with the Child Welfare League of America. In recognition of her dedication, she was honored with the Pyramid Award for Adoption Advocacy Services by the New York Chapter of the National Association of Black Social Workers (NABSW) in 2005 and a Pyramid award in 2008 from NABSW for Community Service. Ms. Neal is listed in Who's Who in America, Who's Who of American Women and Who's Who in the World.
