Kameron Perez-Verdia has 17 years of experience in the nonprofit sector

ANCHORAGE, AK, May 18, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ --Kameron Perez-Verdia, Chief Executive Officer of Avant-Garde Learning Alliance, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in organizational and program development.

Spurred by his desire to make a positive impact on his community, Mr. Perez-Verdia took on the role of chief executive officer at Avant-Garde Learning. Utilizing 17 years of experience working in the nonprofit sector, he oversees the overall direction of the organization. He manages seven full-time employees and eight contractors, works with the board on corporate strategy, and handles the company's marketing and human resources functions. Finding success through his ability to communicate with a diverse group of people, he hopes to elevate his organization to serve schools and communities throughout the state of Alaska.

A graduate of the Daniels College of Business at the University of Denver, Mr. Perez-Verdia holds a Master of Business Administration in executive leadership. His educational foundation is built on a bachelor's degree in communication, with a concentration on human resources development, from the University of Puget Sound. Mr. Perez-Verdia volunteers as a board member for the Food Bank of Alaska and the National Science Resource Center.

Avant-Garde Learning Alliance (Avant-Garde) is a nonprofit organization that works through partnerships to improve teaching and learning in Alaska's schools. With a primary focus on rural communities, Avant-Garde brings a balance of innovation and best practice with respect for local leadership, culture and tradition.
