Deborah A. DePollo Honored for Excellence in Education Administration
Deborah DePollo helped fight to keep St. Dominic School from closing
KINGSPORT, TN, May 4, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Deborah A. DePollo, Principal and Director of St. Dominic School, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in educational administration.
Motivated by a passion for working with children, Mrs. DePollo ventured into education more than two decades ago. She was offered the reins at St. Dominic School, her local church school, in 1998, shortly after completing a graduate degree. Although St. Dominic's is now celebrating its 65th anniversary, the school was threatened with closure a little over a year ago. Mrs. DePollo and her colleagues have been successful at increasing enrollment and have helped lower the subsidy the school receives from the church. She is deeply proud of their efforts and of the school they fought to keep open, and looks forward to more years in her position.
Deborah DePollo is recognized as an expert in Child Development and has been a member of ASCD for many years. In 2010, she was recognized by Cambridge Who's Who with induction as a VIP member. She received a doctoral level educational administration certification in 2001 from East Tennessee State University, a master's degree in early childhood education in 1994, and a bachelor of arts in political science from West Virginia University in 1972.
