CONNELLYS SPRINGS, NC, September 7, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Thurman B. Roe, Safety Manager of Merchants Distributors Inc., has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in business administration.

As safety manager of Merchants Distributors Inc., Mr. Roe specializes in people and safety management. His responsibilities entail checking accident reports, coordinating with insurance companies, overseeing workers compensations and fleet accident issues, assisting the department to keep training and procedures up-to-date, maintaining supplies and reviewing government files. Merchants Distributors Inc. allocates food and non-food items to grocery stores. Prior to joining the company, he worked as a warehouse supervisor, and he grew in his profession through his assiduousness and family's support.

Mr. Roe has his MESH certification through the Safety and Health Council of North Carolina. He is also a defensive driving instructor, certified notary public and safety manager, and holds a food safety certification. He is a member of the American Society of Safety Engineers and attained the Douglas M. Vaughn Award for Community Service. He also participates in community theatre and fundraising events at his wife's school. In the future, he intends to obtain a license to preach and would like to become more involved in community and church activities.
