Susan Howard-Novotny Named to Exclusive Membership Organization
Susan Howard-Novotny celebrates 18 years as an MDS coordinator

JACKSONVILLE, FL, September 13, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ --Susan Howard-Novotny, MDS Coordinator for Signature Health Care, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in long term care and critical care areas.

With 18 years of experience as an MDS coordinator Ms. Susan Howard-Novotny is responsible for managing RAI/MDS processes for 120 long-term care residents, monitoring Medicare patients ensuring these patients fall within skilling guidelines, administering patient care, overseeing the care plan team of 10, and providing critical care in various hospitals. She also oversees the RAI/MDS/CAREPLAN process for all patients in the facility regardless of payor source.

Ms. Howard-Novotny has been a registered nurse for 30 years. Prior to her current position, she functioned as a interim director of nursing and assistant director of nursing and worked in various critical care units in the area. She became involved in her profession as she has known she wanted to pursue nursing since the age of 7, and she attributes her success to the satisfaction she attains from making a difference in a patient's life.

Ms. Howard-Novotny received an Associates Degree of Science in Nursing from Columbus State University in 1979. She is a member of the American Association of Nurse Assessment Coordinators. She maintains both bcls and acls certifications and is in process of becoming certified in the new MDS 3.0 process.
