Michelle M. Chavez Honored for Accomplishments in Human Resource Management
Michelle M. Chavez helped implement the women's leadership development program at UPS Supply Chain Solutions

With 30 years of professional experience, Michelle M. Chavez is best noted for her skills in implementation and consolidation. She brought her talents to UPS in 1999. As HR manager, she is in charge of offering consultative guidance in key HR areas such as performance management, employee motivation, training, health and safety, and employee relations. Additional responsibilities include ensuring effective compliance with federal and state governing agencies, and collaborating with area managers and corporate headquarters on the resolution of employee-related issues. Credited for her role in implementing UPS Supply Chain Solutions' Women's Leadership Development program, Ms. Chavez attributes her success to her commitment to her profession and drive to continue her education.

Ms. Chavez received her master of business administration in 1992 from Columbus University and holds a certification in human resource management from the University of California, Irvine. Her professional affiliations include the Alumni Association of UC Irvine and the Society for Human Resource Management. She gives generously to the San Francisco Food Bank, an affiliate of United Way. In five years, Ms. Chavez aspires to attain a divisional role at UPS which, hopefully, will lead to a national role.
