Ms. Pratt Gerbino has worked to enhance the economy of the greater Wichita area since 2008
WICHITA, KS, December 9, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Victoria Pratt Gerbino, CEcD, President of the Greater Wichita Economic Development Coalition, (GWEDC) has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication and excellence in economic development leadership.
Certified as an Economic Development Professional by the International Economic Development Council (IEDC) in 2004; Ms. Pratt Gerbino has practiced her profession for 18 years in a career spanning three states. In addition to her position of President of GWEDC, she serves as the Vice President for Economic Development for the Wichita Metro Chamber of Commerce and on IEDC's Economic Development Organization Accreditation Committee. Since 2008, she has led the team that works to enhance the economy of the greater Wichita area, through activities designed to attract and retain wealth-generating business investments. While the economic downturn has certainly impacted this manufacturing-focused community, the GWEDC has counted many successes during her tenure.
Prior to taking the helm in Wichita, Ms. Pratt Gerbino experienced many successful economic development project wins with the Greater Rochester Enterprise; which focused on attracting and retaining business investments across the Finger Lakes Region of New York State. She also experienced notable successes in previous positions as the President of Regional Economic Development, Inc. in Columbia, MO; and as the Executive Director of the County of Orleans (NY) Industrial Development Agency. Ms. Pratt Gerbino attributes her success to her tenacity; indicating that she "doesn't give up until the deal is done."
A graduate of the State University of New York at Buffalo, Ms. Pratt Gerbino has continued her education with coursework at Cornell University and the University of WI-Madison; along with professional training offered by IEDC and others. Ms. Pratt Gerbino is a member of the KS Economic Development Association and has been active on the State economic development associations in both Missouri and New York State. She currently sits on the Orpheum Theater Board of Directors in Wichita. Looking ahead, she intends to remain aggressive in efforts to expand and diversify Wichita's economic base and "looks forward to the challenge."
