ARDMORE, PA, December 7, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Tammi Van Hollander, Family and Child Play Therapist at the Center for Psychological Services and Seminar Presenter at Cross Country Education has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in therapy.

Ms. Van Hollander has 20 years of overall professional experience. Her responsibilities at the Center for Psychological Services include providing individual counseling, play, sandtray and family therapy, holding parenting and teacher workshops. Ms. Van Hollander specializes in preschool children with a focus on play therapy. Play therapy is an effective intervention to help children work out what is troubling them on a deeper level. She integrates cognitive behavioral techniques as well as sand and play therapies to help quiet the nervous system and raise self esteem. Children are given a wide variety of strategies and coping techniques as well as providing a safe space in the playroom for self expression. Ms. Van Hollander has been successful in the treatment of children with anxiety, aggression, depression, trauma, and ADHD. Additionally, she travels throughout the nation conducting seminars on utilizing sandtray therapy for therapeutic interventions.

Ms. Van Hollander started her career as a social worker in a residential setting for boys who were abandoned, abused and neglected, and then moved to a hospital setting, where she worked as an inpatient psychiatric clinician. She also had a private psychotherapy practice and was a behavioral specialist, working in the school system and home settings.

In 1995, Ms. Van Hollander received a Master of Social Work from The University of Pennsylvania. She received her certification as a Registered Play Therapist at The Family and Play Therapy Center in Philadelphia and is a member of the Association for Play Therapy and the Specialists of Schools Association.
