Shirley J. Brydie, Ph.D., to be Profiled in Exclusive Registry

PHOENIX, AZ, December 3, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dr. Shirley J. Brydie, Nurse Educator and Faculty at Estrella Mountain Community College, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in nursing education.

With 25 years of professional experience, Dr. Brydie attributes her success to her strong spiritual faith and divine intervention. Her responsibilities at Estrella Mountain Community College include co-teaching in block one and leading faculty in block two having created the medical surgery program. She also handles lectures, clinical work and simulations for students, builds curriculum and tests for staff, mentors and supports new faculty and provides online access to blogs, case studies and testing.

Dr. Brydie has previously taught at Jersey City State University and Essex County College in New Jersey, as well as at Arizona State University. She is published, has done podium and poster presentations, and is part of the interdisciplinary writing panel for Maricopa. A member of Sigma Theta Tau International, she is affiliated with the Arizona Nurses Association, the American Holistic Nurses Association and the American Nurses Association.

In 2002, Dr. Brydie earned a Ph.D. in nursing, with Honors, from the Clayton College of Natural Health. She earned a Master of Science in nursing and a Bachelor of Science in nursing from New Jersey City University, and an associate degree in nursing in 1985 from Essex County College. Also a registered nurse, she received the Clinical Practice Award from Chi Eta Phi, and the Governor's Teacher Award in 2004 from Woodbridge High School.
