BIRMINGHAM, AL, December 23, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dr. Patricia E. Patterson, Medical Doctor at Birmingham Pulmonary Group, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in health care.

Through the influence of her grandmother, Dr. Patterson entered the field of medicine. She has 11 years of professional experience and specializes in pulmonary critical care. Since 2002, Dr. Patterson has been working at Birmingham Pulmonary Group, where she oversees all pulmonary diseases, critical care and sleep disorders.

Graduating from Wake Forest University in 1993, she earned an MD in medicine. Dr. Patterson also holds a Bachelor of Science in organic chemistry from Furman University, in Greenville, SC. She has affiliations with the American College of Chest Physicians, the American Thoracic Society and the American Academy of Sleep Medicine. Looking ahead, Dr. Patterson intends to continue serving her patients with quality care and keep abreast of changes in the medical profession.
