Morris Kletzel, MD, Recognized for Excellence in Health Care
Dr. Morris Kletzel is board-certified in pediatric hematology, oncology and pediatrics
CHICAGO, IL, December 30, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Morris Kletzel, FAAP, MBA, Doctor of Pediatrics at the Children's Memorial Hospital, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in health care.
Dr. Kletzel is one of the nation's foremost authorities on pediatric stem cell transplants and is board-certified in pediatric hematology, oncology and pediatrics. With 30 years of professional experience, he heads the Children's Memorial Hospital's Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders. His most recent work includes developing and overseeing an innovative stem cell transplant procedure that provides children with aggressive neuroblastoma; itgreatly improved children's chances of cancer survival and cure.
As a Meryl Suzanne Weiss endowed professor of hematology, oncology and stem cell transplantation, Dr. Kletzel teaches pediatrics at Northwestern University's Feinberg School of Medicine. He became involved in his profession because of his love for children, pediactric medicine and research.
Dr. Kletzel is a member of the American Society of Hematology, the American Society for Blood and Marrow Transplantation, and the American Society of Clinical Oncology. He received an MD from the National University of Mexico in 1973. Looking ahead, Dr. Kletzel intends to continue conducting research.
