Linda G. Wishard Honored for Accomplishments in Human Resource Management

AUSTIN, TX, December 16, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Linda G. Wishard, Vice President of Human Resources for the National Western Life Insurance Company, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in human resource management.

With 30 years of professional experience, Ms. Wishard has honed her knowledge of human resources. On a daily basis, she handles all of the functions of the human resource department. Her duties include strategic management of human capital, managing payroll, training and development, employee relations as well as designing and administering compensation and benefit programs.

In 1976, Ms. Wishard earned a master's degree in dance from The University of Southern California, following a Bachelor of Science in education from The University of Texas at Austin. She also earned an associate degree in general studies from Tyler Junior College in 1970. Ms. Wishard is a certified senior professional in human resources and training professional. Further, she is the recipient of the professional associate customer service (PCS) and American Life Management Institute (ALMI) certifications from LOMA and a certification in employment law from the Institute for Applied Management and Law.

She has previously held positions as the human resources chairwoman at The Lakeway Church, the president of the South Texas chapter of RIMS, the president of the Chain Restaurant Compensation Association, and director of Family Life Insurance Company and Investors Life Insurance Company of North America. She is the chairwoman of the human resources committee of the Lakeway Municipal Utilities District and a member of the compensation committee of LOMA.

Ms. Wishard also belongs to the Austin Area Human Resource Management Association, Society of Human Resource Management, World at Work and the American Society of Training and Development. She has been honored with inclusion in Notable American Women, Who's Who in the West, Who's Who South and the Southwest, and Who's Who in American Junior Colleges. She is a committee member of Workforce Readiness.
