Junio-Ismael Alvarado Named to Exclusive Membership Organization
Junio-Ismael Alvarado celebrates 33 years of professional experience
WESTCHESTER, NY, December 8, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Junio-Ismael Alvarado, Eligibility Examiner II for the Westchester Department of Social Services, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in public service.
With 33 years of professional, Mr. Alvarado has become an expert humanitarian. In his current capacity, he works with customers, doctors and the inspector general's office to handle Medicaid fraud. He became involved in his profession because he was in the public assistance program when he was younger. Driven by his interest in the inner workings of such programs, Mr. Alvarado moved from being a welfare recipient to working for the department of social services. He attended night school to earn a GED diploma in order to enroll in higher education.
In 2008, Mr. Alvarado graduated from Belford University with a Bachelor of Arts in business administration. He is a member of CSEA and the president of a labor union. Honored with an award from the East Harlem Pilot Block Association, he is a two-time Employee of the Month award recipient. A volunteer of American Cancer Society, Mr. Alvarado supports the American Heart Association and El Museo Del Barrio. In the near future, he hopes to retire from his civil service job and focus on becoming an entrepreneur. He will continue volunteering to help the underprivileged and sick.
