She previously retired from the Yuba City Police Department, has owned several businesses, and taught art classes. She is a member of the local Chamber of Commerce as well as the Glazer-Kennedy Insider's Circle. In 1969, Ms. Duke earned a Bachelor of Arts in Medical Technology from San Jose State University.
