James E. Williams established The Uplifting Foundation and Life Force Therapies after his wife suffered an anoxic neurological injury

Plymouth, MN, December 23, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- James E. Williams, President & CEO of The Uplifting Foundation and Founder, Owner & Clinical Director of Life Force Therapies, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in the neurological applications of hyperbaric oxygenation.

Mr. Williams conceived of Life Force Therapies out of tragedy. On April 11, 2000, his wife, Sharon Williams, suffered an anoxic neurological injury following a successful surgery. It was later determined that morphine administration in the recovery room resulted in respiratory arrest and subsequent cardiac arrest. By the time Sharon was discovered and resuscitated, the lack of oxygen to her brain had caused extensive damage. The establishment of the clinic was a labor of love to assist Sharon's recovery and out of her concern for the well-being of others.

Life Force Therapies opened its doors to the community in January 2006. It was the first "stand-alone" clinic in Minnesota to specialize in the neurological applications of hyperbaric oxygenation for patients suffering from stroke, coma, autism, traumatic brain injury, cerebral palsy, anoxic encephalopathy and multiple sclerosis. Life Force Therapies, a place of serenity, innovation, and healing, has since helped over 500 patients. Currently, the clinic is also gearing up to treat returning Iraq and Afghanistan veterans through the National Brain Injury Rescue and Rehabilitation Project. The project is a multicenter study of hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) at low pressure in Chronic Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI)/Post-Concussion Syndrome (PCS) and TBI/Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). The goal is to make unproductive brains productive again.

Mr. Williams' other passion is the running of The Uplifting Foundation, which was formed to assist financially challenged families who have love ones with neurological injuries. Mr. Williams is most proud of the foundation's success with autistic children. The heartfelt, tear-ridden appreciation he has received from the families of these children even surpasses his experiences while traveling with former Vice President Walter Mondale throughout Asia, meeting with Premeire Li of The People's Republic of China, and Mr. Williams' other global traveling experiences.

James E. Williams has a distinguished and diversified background that includes serving as Senior Attorney with Honeywell Inc., and President & CEO of Global Vision Enterprises Inc. He received a BA from New Mexico State University with majors in journalism, sociology and government in 1975, a MA in sociology from New Mexico State University in 1976, and a JD from Georgetown University Law Center in 1980. Additionally, he is an international specialist through The Parker School of Foreign Law at Columbia University, and completed the advanced management program at Harvard Business School. He has been a member of the American Bar Association since 1981, and a member of the Minnesota State Bar Association since 1986. He also maintains affiliation with the Minnesota Minority Lawyer Association, Rotary lnternational and Paul Harris Fellow, Phi Kappa Phi Fraternity, Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, the Arnold Air Society, the National Minority Supplier
Development Counsel (MBE), and the American Chamber of Commerce (Hong Kong). He serves as a Junior Achievement advisor and was listed in The Marquis Who's Who In American Law (1987/1988 edition). He was recognized by Who's Who Worldwide for leadership and achievement, and received the YMCA Chairman of the Board Award, and the City of Golden Valley Appreciation Award.

Looking ahead, Mr. Williams intends to make his clinic profitable so that he can reinvest those profits into the community. Meanwhile, he uses all of his resources to help others. He endeavors to live happily and peacefully with the stress that occurs in life and be a positive contributor to society.
