CHARLESTON, WV, December 30, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Charles D. Rose, MA, Educator at Birch River Elementary of Nicholas County Schools, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in primary education.
As a youth, Mr. Rose was a summer camp counselor, a position which led him into the field of education. He is currently a 22-year veteran; his forte is a strong understanding of child development and literacy including addressing the differentiated needs of all students. At Birch River Elementary School, Mr. Rose instructs 21 first-grade students, and attributes his success to constantly learning.
Mr. Rose graduated from West Virginia University in 1988, where he earned a master's degree and took an additional 60 credits. Three years prior, he received a Bachelor of Arts in elementary education from Glenville State College. Mr. Rose is certified in elementary education, as well as teaching language arts and social studies to fourth through eighth grade students. He is a member of AFT West Virginia, and was named Teacher of the Year. Mr. Rose voluntarily contributes his free time to local church outreach programs. In the future, he intends to consult with teachers, inspire them to see each child's unique gifts, to value children's differences and to use these to teach all children to read, write and be confident thinkers.
