Stephanie N. Winborn celebrates 18 years in education

SCHERERVILLE, IN, November 8, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Stephanie N. Winborn, Principal at Steger Public School District 194, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in education.

With 18 years of professional experience and seven years of experience as principal at Steger Public School District 194, Mrs. Winborn's areas of expertise are organizational leadership and team building. In her current position, she reviews and revises the curriculum, supervises and evaluates teachers and staff, and collaborates with parents, fellow administrators and community members. Mrs. Winborn had no intention of becoming an administrator until she was asked by her former superintendent to join the middle school administrative team. She attributes her success to her educational vision, hard work, communication skills, and ability to lead others in accomplishing common goals.

In 1997, Mrs. Winborn received a master's degree in elementary educational administration from Purdue University. She is a member of the National Education Association and The Illinois Principals' Association. She supports the American Cancer Society, The Veterans' Association, and The State Police and Fire Associations. In five years, Mrs. Winborn hopes to become a college professor, preparing future teachers to enter the world of education.
