PORTLAND, ME, November 17, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Sheila H. Szafran, MS, OTR/L, Occupational Therapist for The Cedars, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in senior care.

With 34 years of professional experience, Ms. Szafran has developed an expertise in pain management. She attends to many different duties in her current position at The Cedars. As a former director, manager and developer, she creates programs that are age and diagnostic specific for each of the clients that she serves. She also acts as a mentor to college students holding intern positions. In addition, Ms. Szafran provides patients with direct care. Previously, she managed a private practice, before becoming the director of a chronic pain management program at Beacon Occupational Health.

A registered occupational therapist, she is a member of the American Occupational Therapy Association and its Geriatric Special Interest Group as well as the Maine Occupational Therapy Association. Her current volunteer work includes performing the role of senior visitor at several facilities. She intends to have her work published in the near future.
