Prudence S. Ferraro Named to Exclusive Membership Organization
Prudence S. Ferraro's extensive education enables her to thrive as a substitute teacher

DOBBS FERRY, NY, November 23, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Prudence S. Ferraro, Substitute Teacher of Dobbs Ferry Union Free School District, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership, and excellence in nursing and education.

Mrs. Ferraro earned a Master's Degree in Health Education from Adelphi University, having previously earned a bachelor's degree in nursing from Cornell-New York Hospital. She is a charter member of the National Honor Society of Nursing, Sigma Theta Tau Chapter.

She was an instructor for Suffolk County Opportunity For Professional Education (SCOPE) for Childhood Obesity, 1978-1981, having had a very successful program with 4th, 5th and 6th graders at Gardiner Manor School in Bay Shore, NY. As an adjunct professor at Farmingdale University, she wrote and taught "Philosophy, Practice and Principles of School Nursing". She conducted Fresh Start Smoke Ending clinics for the Cancer Society, taught CPR to faculty and community organizations, and served on many professionally related committees and organizations.

Mrs. Ferraro has had a long career; starting as a public health nurse in Suffolk County, New York; homemaker and mother to four children for fourteen years; twenty years as a school nurse teacher in Gardiner Manor School, Bay Shore, Long Island, NY; volunteering and substituting in the New Smyrna Beach Schools, Florida for twenty-three years; and presently substituting and volunteering in the Dobbs Ferry Schools and the Dobbs Ferry Historical Society.
