Lieutenant Commander Cory D. Pope Inducted into Cambridge Who's Who
Lieutenant Commander Cory D. Pope graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy as a designated naval flight officer
MIDDLETOWN, RI, October 14, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Cory D. Pope, Lieutenant Commander for the U.S. Navy, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in military and defense.
With 14 years of professional experience, Mr. Pope attributes his success to the inspiration he received from his father and uncle, who were both in the U.S. Navy. As Lieutenant Commander, he is in charge of anti-submarine warfare and mission command. His assignments have included being a Tactical Coordinator aboard aircraft, an aviation detailer and placement officer, and a catapult officer aboard the U.S.S. Abraham Lincoln.
Mr. Pope is pursuing his second master's degree in national defense at U.S. Naval War College. He earned a master's degree in operations management in 2007 from the University of Arkansas and completed the advanced anti-submarine warfare course in 2002 through the U.S. Navy. A member of the Academic National Honor Society, he is affiliated with the U.S. Naval Academy Alumni Association and the Arkansas Alumni Association.
In 2006, Mr. Pope received the Air Medal Strike/Flight Award for Achievement. He received the Humanitarian Service Medal and an Air Medal in 2003 and is a two-time recipient of the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal and is a three-time recipient of the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal.
