Herminia Reyes Named to Exclusive Membership Organization
Herminia Reyes celebrates over 20 years of professional experience
SAN DIEGO, CA, November 10, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Herminia Reyes, Philosophy Lecturer at San Diego State University, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in higher education.
With over 20 years of experience as a teacher of philosophy, Ms. Reyes specializes in the ancient and medieval periods of philosophy. Every semester she teaches five classes, holds office hours, and consults with students. Ms. Reyes has also spent time teaching and studying in the Philippines, where she edited the journal entitled Sophia and a philosophy book entitled "Ang Philosophiya ng Tao." While in the Philippines, she translated in Tagalog Sartre's Existentialism is a Humanism. She attributes her success in teaching philosophy to her passion, hard work and the rewarding element of her job.
A member of the American Philosophy Association, Ms. Reyes earned a Master of Arts, with a major in Philosophy, from Fordham University in 1990. She also has another Master of Arts, with a major in Philosophy from the Ateneo De Manila University. She also earned a Bachelor of Arts, with a major in philosophy from the University of Santo Tomas. Ms. Reyes was named by the Philosophy Department of the College of Arts and Letters, San Diego State University as the Most Influential Teacher in Philosophy for 2010 and 2009. In her spare time, she volunteers for the Breast Cancer Foundation. Ms. Reyes' goal is to write (upon retiring from teaching) a book on her own philosophical insights.
