Olga Berg Honored for Excellence in Political Service
Olga Berg is the Founder of Republican Women of Bentonville, Arkansas and the recipient of the Woman of the Year Award from the Bentonville/Bella Vista Chamber of Commerce
BENTONVILLE, AR, May 19, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Olga Berg, Founder and Former President of Republican Women of Bentonville, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in all aspects of political service.
Olga Berg has 15 years of professional experience and is the founder of Republican Women of Bentonville, an organization that encourages women to become politically involved in the process by electing qualified women and men to the State House, Congress, and the White House. A specialist in the development of new organizations and clubs, she is responsible for seeing them through to their charter into viability. Ms. Berg notes that she became involved in her profession due to an interest in politics at an early age; while her parents were Republicans, they explained both sides of various issues to her and encouraged her to make her own choices.
Before founding Republican Women of Bentonville, Ms. Berg served as secretary of the Pea Ridge National Military Park Foundation and, on three different occasions, participated in an archeological dig on a battlefield that was conducted by the National Park Service. Also an author, she writes stories with particular emphasis on children's stories. In 2006, Ms. Berg received the Woman of the Year Award at the Northwest Arkansas Business Women's Conference sponsored by Bentonville/Bella Vista Chamber of Commerce. Additionally, she was recognized by the board of directors of the Statue of Liberty-Ellis Island Foundation, Inc. She is a former president of Diehl Toastmasters Club #7403 of District 43 of Toastmasters International, Inc. She received a charter for the League of Women Voters of Benton County.
Ms. Berg is a 20-year volunteer at Bentonville/Bella Vista Chamber of Commerce. In her spare time, she is grateful for the opportunity to travel throughout the country to meet with inspirational women. She considers establishing Republican Women of Bentonville to be her most outstanding professional accomplishment.
